Overview: PoL Converters for Space Applications 

3D PLUS offers radiation-tolerant Point-Of-Load (PoL) DC/DC Converters that are ideal for Space Applications due to their high performance, reliability, compact size, and low weight. These converters can now operate from a 4.5V input, which is widely available in digital systems. They provide a single adjustable output voltage with exceptional efficiency.

With a high-speed control loop, these converters maintain regulation of the output voltage even during high transient load swings commonly found in modern ASICs, FPGAs, and Memory devices.

The PoL Converters are fully equipped with protection features against output overload, input under-voltage, and internal overheating. They also have an external ON/OFF command and Soft Start function for seamless power supply sequencing. Additionally, a Power Good signal is included for module monitoring and can be utilized for Power On Reset.

To simplify module implementation and save on space and weight for Space applications, 3D PLUS PoL converters come with integrated input and output EMC filters. They are also designed with gull wing SMD packages to withstand harsh thermal and mechanical environments, ensuring high resistance SMT assembly.

3D PLUS PoL Converters are suitable for the power supply needs of fast and low voltage digital electronics such as FPGAs, DDR, and DDR2 SDRAM Memories and in a variety of distributed power system designs.

Each 3D PLUS standard product and SiP solution are defined by a specific part number based on the part number decoder provided below. The ordering information consist as a minimum of the following 3 items for fully define a product:

• The product’s Part Number
• The temperature range
• The quality grade

For High Reliability products or SiPs for Aerospace applications, a Source Control Drawing (SCD#) referenced 3DPA-xxxx is available for each product. It shall be used for its procurement in addition to other ordering information.
