RTIMS Flash – Proven, Radiation-Protected Memory for Space Applications

Since 2014, the RTIMS Flash family has set the standard for high-density, radiation-tolerant NAND Flash. Combining SLC-based NAND Flash with an integrated Flash Memory Controller (FMC), RTIMS Flash ensures mission-critical reliability in the harshest space environments. Its proven flight heritage includes prestigious missions such as Intuitive Machines.

The integrated FMC manages the memory intelligently, providing full protection against radiation-induced errors, safeguarding against high-current events, and handling essential functions like wear leveling and bad block management. This makes RTIMS Flash ready to operate as a plug-and-play memory module or a stand-alone local data recorder, compatible with any processor or FPGA with a standard NAND Flash interface.

The latest RTIMS Flash modules extend the family’s capabilities:

  • 3DSS48G08VS3772: Doubles the storage capacity of the original 3DSS24G08VS3626 module while maintaining the same proven electrical and radiation performance. This part is available and in full production since 2024.
  • 3DSS64G08US2818: Four times the density of the original 8 Gbit module and at least twice the data bandwidth. First deliveries of engineering models  are expected in January 2026.
